A new 7-story, 52,000 square foot low-income residential building comprised of 50 units on an angular lot. The building design accentuates the two obtuse corners of the building’s street frontage by cladding them in a corrugated metal panel system. Vibrant colored brick at both sides of the window jambs reveals itself to drivers as they pass by on the adjacent elevated BQE, creating a sense of movement and rhythm. Building amenities include: a community room, laundry room, bike storage facility, and landscaped rear yard with children’s play area.
Sustainable elements include vertical and horizontal photovoltaics, along with highly insulated exterior walls, ENERGY STAR light fixtures and appliances, low-flow plumbing fixtures, occupancy sensors on public area lighting, high efficiency boilers, and a CoGen combined heat and electrical power system.
